Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) Sensor Repair

All modern vehicles are equipped with NOx (nitrogen oxide) sensors in order to analyse the emissions, making sure they are within legal limits.

If the NOx sensor fails, your dashboard will light up, letting you know something is wrong – at our workshop in Lanark, we have the technology to read the error codes and establish if it is indeed the NOx sensor that has failed.

It’s not particularly difficult to repair a NOx sensor, but it can be expensive. However, there is the option of using a refurbished sensor which will reduce costs and generally, they work as well as a new one, although may not have the same lifespan. It may also be the case that part of the NOx sensor, called the Lambda probe, simply needs replacing.

Our team will investigate your NOx sensor, and discuss the options with you to find the best solution, so give the team at Boyd's Motor Engineers a call. We are experienced in repairing and fitting NOx sensors and are here to answer your questions and advise you on how to proceed.
